Dental Extractions

A tooth may need to be removed (extracted) for various reasons.  Most commonly a tooth needs to be removed because of extensive decay, fracture, malposition or gum disease.  Your dentist usually recommends an extraction only after all other avenues of restoring the tooth have been explored.  Many dental extractions can be done painlessly and relatively quickly.  Depending on the situation and location of the removed tooth, the resulting space can often be restored with a dental implant.  One of our doctors will explain to you your options and discuss your dental extraction at the time of your examination.
